Crocheted Dino Backpack Cover

Materials:

* 4 Worsted Weight Yarn https://prf.hn/l/Pln8Pw5 or https://amzn.to/4aukglp
* Buttons – at least ¾” https://prf.hn/l/RlbzWpn or https://amzn.to/3vPQgBh

Abbreviations:
MC = Magic Circle
CH = Chain
ST= Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet

Pattern:
Chain 43
Row 1: Hdc in each chain, ch 1, turn (42)
Row 2-38: Hdc across, ch 1, turn (42)
Hdc around entire project with 2 Hdc in the corners

Fasten off and weave in ends

Straps:
Find the Center and mark it with a piece of yarn or stitch marker
Attach yarn at the stitch marker stich and make an Hdc in same st, Hdc in the next 2 sts, ch 1, turn (3)
Hdc across as many times as you want, I made my straps 20 rows long.
Tie off and weave in ends

Other Strap:
Count 2 sts away from marked st and attach yarn. Make Hdc in same st and in the next 2 sts (you should end up in the
marked st). ch 1, turn
Continue like first strap
Tie off and weave in ends

Spikes: I made 6
Make 4 Sc in Mc (you can sl st and ch 1 or you can work in rounds and mark your st with a st marker)
Round 2: *Make 1 Sc in 1st st, 2 Sc in next st*, repeat
Round 3: *Make 1 Sc in 1st st and in next 2 sts, Make 2 Sc in next St*, repeat
Round 4: *Make a Sc in 1 st and in next 3 sts, Make 2 Sc in the next*, repeat
Round 5: *Make a Sc in 1 st and in next 4 sts, Make 2 Sc in the next*, repeat
Round 6: *Make a Sc in 1 st and in next 5 sts, Make 2 Sc in the next*, repeat
Round 7: *Make a Sc in 1 st and in next 6 sts, Make 2 Sc in the next*, repeat
Round 8: *Make a Sc in 1 st and in next 7 sts, Make 2 Sc in the next*, repeat
Round 9: *Make a Sc in 1 st and in next 8 sts, Make 2 Sc in the next*, repeat
Tie of and leave tail to attach spikes to cover

Attach buttons and you’re done!
