Adult Size Minnie Beanie Free Crochet Pattern

Materials:
* Size I 5.5 mm Hook
* Size H 5.0 mm hook
* Tapestry Needle
*Note: the below yarn is slightly thinner than the red heart brand, you may need to increase your hook size on each part.

Make 8 Hdc in Magic Circle, Sl st to 1st Hdc, Ch 1 (8)
Round 2: 2 Hdc in each st, Sl st, Ch 1 (16)
Round 3: *Make 2 Hdc in 1st st, Hdc in next st*, Repeat, Sl st, ch 1 (24)
Round 4: *Make 2 Hdc in 1st st, Hdc in next 2 sts*, Repeat, Sl st, ch 1 (32)
Round 5: *Make 2 Hdc in 1st st, Hdc in next 3 sts*, Repeat, Sl st, ch 1 (40)

Row 4: Hdc2tog, Hdc in the next 6 sts, Hdc2tog, Ch 1 turn (8)
Row 5: Hdc in each st, ch 1, turn (8)
Row 6: Hdc2tog, Hdc in the next 4 sts, Hdc2tog, Ch 1 turn (6)
Row 7: Hdc in each st, ch 1, turn (6)

Second earflap placement: Fold hat in half leaving slightly more stitches in the front of the hat than in the back. Place
second earflap to line up with the first earflap.
Row 1: Attach yarn and make 12 hdc’s, ch 1, turn (12)
Row 2: Hdc2tog, Hdc in the next 8 sts, Hdc2tog, Ch 1 turn (10)
Row 3: Hdc in each st, ch 1, turn (10)
Row 4: Hdc2tog, Hdc in the next 6 sts, Hdc2tog, Ch 1 turn (8)
Row 5: Hdc in each st, ch 1, turn (8)
Row 6: Hdc2tog, Hdc in the next 4 sts, Hdc2tog, Ch 1 turn (6)
Row 7: Hdc in each st, ch 1, turn (6)

Fasten off & weave in ends
Braids:
I cut 4 strands of each color about 36” long for each earflap
Pull strands trough hole at bottom of earflap and braid
Ears: (make 2 for each ear) H Hook
Make 12 Hdc in Magic Circle, sl st, ch 1 (12)
Round 2: Make 2 Hdc in each st, sl st, ch 1 (24)
Round 3: *Make 2 Hdc in 1st st, Hdc in next st, sl st, ch 1 (36)
*Put the 2 wrong sides together and stich around edge together*
Attach ears to hat
Bow: H hook
Chain 48 and sl st to 1st chain (48)
Row 1-10: Sc in each st, sl st, ch 1 (48)
Tie off and weave in ends
Fold in half, making sure the seam is in the back middle (This will get covered by the middle strap)
Bow Middle Strap: H hook
Chain 11
Row 1: Sc in 2nd chain from hook and all chains (10)
Row 2-3: Sc in each st, ch 1, turn (10)
*Wrap strap in center of bow and sew end together in the back of the bow*
White Dots: (I made 6, 3 for each side of bow) E hook
Make 6 Sc in Magic Circle, sl st, ch 1 (6)
Tie off, I hot glued mine on
Attach Bow to hat
